Labor Day weekend 2019 will be the 40th anniversary of the “First Spiritual Conference for Radical Fairies” [1, 2]. In the years since that first gathering, circumstances that some might say were spirit-guided have led several Faerie scouting expeditions to revisit the site.

Now the site has become available for lease or purchase. After several colorful and spiritually-minded owners, as well as years of disrepair, the home of the first national Radical Faerie Gathering has been lovingly restored by current owner Dana Dawson, who rents it out for vacations, camping, retreats, weddings and other special events.

“The Desert Sanctuary at Rincon Peak” lies 45 miles east of Tucson, has 120 acres to explore, and is adult clothing-optional. It has a large commercial-style community kitchen and dining hall, Olympic-sized swimming pool, poolside house, quaint cottages, tenting, and Dry and Full RV Hookup setup (water, 30/50 amp electrical and septic) for short and long term availability.

The property has a sacred vibe and a rich spiritual legacy that includes service as a yoga ashram co-founded by famous Harvard professor and LSD researcher/advocate Timothy Leary in the 1960s. It was here in 1979, at the Sri Ram Desert Ashram near Benson, Arizona, that the Radical Faeries spontaneously generated the legendary Mud Ritual, formed the Great Faerie Circle that evolved through subsequent gatherings into the traditional Heart Circle, and became the Faeries that we know today [3].

Current photos of the site can be viewed at the links below.
